later tonight, I watch a bad Steve Buscemi (sp?) movie (13 moons), take me a shower, clean up the kitchen, do the dishes, roll up the hose I busted out earlier to clean the porch wall, rolled in the trash can, and was ready to throw the old pine stump back where it belonged (leaning against the front of the house), and it was gone! I guess I placed it too close to the edge of the road [oops!]. it was pretty rotten anyway. it broke in half when I moved it and there was a big ol' bees nest in it, so no worries. it was rather decorative, maybe I'll replace it with a Tiki statue, or a totem pole. I'm thinkin' once I get the place lookin' sharp, maybe I'll ditch these van seats on the porch and get me a good used set of something to sit on....something more porchy, and less trailer trashy. maybe Ron (aka Chas Manson) will want these van seats, or I can bring them to the junkyard. that's for another day. right now, they do the trick.
Brian (almost room mate/neighbor) just got back from borrowing my truck. seems he got his UFO (Subaru SVK) in a wreck and it's sittin' at the shop. he's been having some bad luck lately with autos (see earlier post). I guess they (the insurance agency) are going to provide him with a loaner so he can start his new job on Monday, but for now, I'm not using mine, so go for it dude....it truly feels weird that I didn't have to work this weekend! the even better news is I don't have to be back until next Friday!
speaking of autos. we had a hard rain the other day and I wanted to see if my caulk job on the windshield kept the water out. nope. once again, wet carpet! dammit! I'm not sure where the water comes in? I must have tweaked the cab hard when I rolled it. I guess it's time. this ol' bomb has been making trade-in noises for long enough (the cab leaks, power steering pump leaks, the "check engine" light randomly comes on when the plugs fowl, the antennae's broke, etc, and so on). I prob'ly won't get very much money selling it outright, but I'm thinkin' I need to upgrade soon, or pump another million in it to bring it up to date. it's nickel and dime-ing me to death. I guess it might sell fast, due to the fact that it still runs pretty good, and it has new solid gold with gem encrusted brakes (those are good selling points). alright, now I went thru the electric motorbike, Royal Enfield motorbike, and sports car convertible phases, now I need to simply look for a newer step-side Ford Ranger, with 4 wheel drive, and manual transmission, that won't cost me $400/month in payments (practical, right?). first, I better find out if I have a job to return to (see earlier post)
I never did get back outside to paint. my sun burnt back dictated I stay inside and catch up on the news, Jon Stewart, South Park, etc (via hulu.com). I sit and write out a good $50 in mail-in rebates. I'll have to bring those along with next months rent cheque to the main office/mail box on one of our barefoot pooperdog walks tomorrow *plan*
wow! I guess I had a lot to write about today. cool! BEER ME!!
