carpel badmitten
alright, I mentioned a left shoulder pain a couple entries ago, which seemed to subside with a bit of stretching and exercise. Friday, I started experiencing yet another pain in my left forearm. it started getting worse and swollen as the day went on. I let my boss know that I may have to inconvenience him for an accident report and told him what was going on. the next day it worsens, so I let him know again. it's an agonizing muscle type pain (that even now hurts as I type). a goofy bulge appears on top of the arm between the wrist and elbow (closer to the wrist). I think, whatever it is, I irritated it worse by working on station 10 (on the stalag's assembly line), which involves you using the palm of your hand as a hammer to smack stubborn tubes into place. anyway, after letting my boss know, and (apparently) having him determine that it isn't anything serious (by not creating said accident report, or asking if I think I needed medical attention), he places me on a simple job for most of the rest of the day. the pain by the end of Saturday was brutal. I still don't know what this is? I decided to take tonight off, thinking another 12 hours of agonizing punishment ain't gonna help it a bit (determined an hour before I was supposed to go into the stalag). I stop by the store and buy me some Iceyhot, and another Ice compress (to rotate in the freezer with the one I already had). that along with Ibuprofen ought to help quell the ouch...it's already doing much better (after already starting Ibuprofen/compress regiment last night), but is still tender to certain wrist movements. I guess I'll have to see a doc tomorrow and see what's goin' on. simply gettin' old? maybe arthritis? gout? carpel badmitten? I'll get a hold of the stalag's HR tomorrow as well, and see what's what (as far as missing time due to a work injury. being that there's no HR rep during the weekend crew). [...news at 11].
meanwhile, I may have to become a right handed beer drinker...

Um, I have that wrist thing too periodically. It's like a bump in the crease of the wrist/hand and it pops up and feels like it's full of fluid. It gets pretty big sometimes when I over use my wrists, twisting or turning. I got it at the Biotec overusing it completely. Yup, if you're hitting something palm up like a hammer, that's a work injury. I didn't do an accident report because it came on slowly over a few days and I couldn't give them a specific injury that happened. They screwed me over big time. Now if I pick up something heavy or use my wrists or arms too much, it gets huge. I take aspirin and it still stays but it hurts a bit less. I hope your work doc can get you in to check it out. Maybe you could get a desk job.
Are you right penciled?
