  • vicious rumors...

yet another vicious rumor (from rumor mill central) about work.  seems one of the guys from our line overheard that the company's bleeding money so badly, in order to keep the place afloat, they've gotta lay-off a good 200 of us, come June.  seriously though, I thought (and still think) the doors would be welded shut even before that...we'll see.  meanwhile it's too expensive for me to even dream about a new used car with those kind of rumors floating about. I'll have to put my finances on lock-down (like I did in the past).  no more PS3 games (as if I don't have enough alreadysilly), less trips to McDonald's...wow!  the more I think about it, I don't have a lot of fat to trim (financially speakingshy).  maybe dump 'netflix' and 'hulu', and buy cheaper beer (is there beer cheaper than Schlitz?shocked), if things get too tight.   I'd like to set up a format to try and pay my debts completely down while I still have an income, so I don't have to scrape so hard when I'm on unemployment (pending the rumor is true, and all...June ain't that far away).  time to "put my house in order" as they say.  I'm doing ok compared to most...[more news at 11]

anyway, enough bad news. how about some good news:  it's the Kid's birthday tomorrow!  happy birfdee Kid! 25 and conquering the world one donut at a timecool....inside joke, he works for Krispee kreme (sp?)

  • Hey Uncle Brains~  Long time no talk!  Sorry to hear your work stuff is in turmoil.  Just a thought if it tanks, if our house doesn't sell this summer, we'll be renting out the front half of the house and would need someone to live in the back of our house as the "landlord helper."  You would have the basement that you saw, the kitchen/dining room, back porch, one bedroom up and the back yard.  You could live on your unenjoyment checks and take a cut from the rental up front after we pay the house payment.  Just something to think about if you wanna live up the hill from the water and junk.  There's always a way.  Still, I think your trailer is great and if you can live there on unenjoyment checks too, awesome.  We just want you to know that anyone in the fam is covered so never fear.  Talk some time!  ta Deed

  • @thesecretlife0fme - I DO like where you guys live, it's the coolest little town by the sea (ummm...great lake) and it's a great offer, but I think I'll ride it out here.  the reason I sound panic-y now, is because I've seen this oncoming scenario too often, and usually, for denial's sake, would not make the proper cuts in my budget until after the ship sinks (or some such bad simile). mine is somewhat of a preemptive strike to make damage control easier when (if) shit hits the fan. my budget is already pretty easy to handle on an even lesser income (being the Dutch guy that I am, and all),  so maybe I'm just being all bug-eyed to lessen the shock-wave of having to look for a crappy job again, when (if) I do....blah, blah.  meanwhile, pooperog, Squabber, and I will keep on rollin' along day by day, looking forward to the summer months ahead, no matter what the job scene looks like.  thanks again, for the offer, though.  you rawk sis!

  • @flamingaardvark - oh, and sorry if the "bite me" 'mini' doesn't exactly fit
