rainy all weekend long, but that doesn't dampen the beer drinkin'/football watchin' situation. a 12'er of Oktoberfest (Sam Adams) and a whole lotta football to watch makes for a great crappy weather weekend!
yesterdays stalag stint is the second work day in a row that we all got farmed out to other lines. must be Dodge Ram sales dropped off big time. here we went from none stop 10 and 12 hour days to completely having the line down. it's weird. oh well. I worked on Toyota's line unloading product into packaging all day. Friday I was on Kia Sorento's line making vertical motor brackets. here's hopin' we work our own line tonight. I don't mind being farmed out, but I'd rather not do other lines EVERY night. it'll prob'ly feel good to get back into the old grind...
took my pooperdog for a walk, and got asked by the neighbor (Rich) if I could drive him to the gas station. seems his brakes feel squishy and he needs some brake fluid. sure! whilst down there, I grab me a Sobe Pina Calada drink and a sweet onion chicken sub (being there's a Subway located inside the gas station). Rich comes up to me while I'm ordering and says this gas station doesn't carry brake fluid
. what?! what gas station doesn't have brake fluid on hand?? anyway, we head towards town and find one that did. on the way back (keep in mind this guy's 87 years old) he tells me his first car was an 1906 Overland Whippet. he then goes on to explain how many Model T's he's had, etc. he's the same guy that told me of his WWII tour of duty as a flame thrower gunner mounted on a tank (somewhere in Japan if I remember correctly...I do believe I expounded on this story in an earlier entry). after talking about his cars, he went on to tell me some stories about his days as a carny, then a policeman, and the girls he banged as a younger man during these times (haha!! it's funny to here about sexual rants from a guy who's been around for ever). anyway, I told him he should write a memoir. I'd buy a copy. he's an interesting old geezer, to say the least.I prob'ly got more nothingness to write about, but I should get in a quick power-nap before tonight's stalag stint...
