• the stars are especially bright  on our cool 4am pooperdog walk.  two sweatshirts make the coolness bearable. it won't be long before I'll need to bust out my winter jacket. I pretty much trade places with my vehicles, being that I'll drive my truck more during the winter, I park my shrimpy batmobile at my room mates mom's house, and park my truck in my driveway (it's been the opposite being I used the batmobile more this summer). I'll keep both insured in case we have another mild winter.  I take the 70 lb sand bags from the shed and throw them in the back of the truck for weight (in case we don't have a mild winter)...soon, I'll bust out the snow blower and park it in front of the porch (chained and locked to the porch, of course, in case anyone gets the wise idea of stealin' it). gotta pick me up a bag of road salt to store on the porch as well.  now, where did I store my mittens and boots?  some broom closet somewhere, I suspect.

  it's been rainin' forever so I haven't been able to bust out my rake.  the yard is awash in fruit loop tree leaves. plus, we worked [stalag] a good 60 hours this week, so time to do anything, including drinking, cleaning, etc.,  has all but gone out the window.  the good news is we still are able to get at least 2 pooperdog walks in per day.  she's doin' good for a silly old mutt.  I thought I had lost her a week or two back, but now I wonder if she'll outlive me.  she's a damn army tank with brittle hips and cataracts. Brian (room mate) makes up past  war stories about her...he's got a creatively silly imagination. 

  last night I watch a bit of football. Michigan beats MSU in the last minutes of the game. drinking a sixer of various microbrewage, and making some black beans unt rice mit ground turkey meat (mmmmmmmmmmms!) for supper.  it's my only day off this week, so I play a little PS3 (bioshock 2, dead space 2, etc), and catch up on the past weeks worth of 'the Daily Show with Jon Stewart',  'the Colbert Report', and 'Peep Show/that Mitchell and Webb look' via Hulu.com (or is it Netflix...?).  it's been a good one day weekend, but now I gotta try and get a good 8 hours of sleep before tonight's stalag stint.

  ...speaking of the stalag. we lose another member of our team.  first it was Lew, then Ashley, now Amanda...gone.  we got 1 replacement (Jessica), but she didn't show up to work on Friday night.  our team has been a skeleton crew before losing these peeps.  oh yeah, did I mention our new boss (how many does that make within the past year or two? 6-7?  I lost count). anyway, sleeeeeeeeeep!
