my dentist visit (after 5 minutes of X-rays) revealed that there's a bit of infection involved with my broken tooth (common) and that both my bottom wisdom teeth will have to be extracted. NICE! the bill comes to over 1700 bucks (including my next cleaning), but with my insurance it was only $270. they gave me some antibiotics and Vicodin prescriptions as well as set me up for said cleaning and extraction date. it turns out the next available surgery date lands 3 days from Christmas. I grabbed it. I'm not looking forward to this, but they'll knock me out during the procedure, so it ought to be somewhat more tolerable...
I buy me a 12'er of leinenkugel's (sp?) variety pack for the weekend, and don't do a whole lot but clean the wood-panel submarine (unt drink). mostly uneventful and half filled with slack (that's a good thing after fitty hours of work).
the stalag has a couple new girls being added to the line. it's about time! we run skeleton crew way too often. the girl I'm training is pretty cool. she's picking the routine up pretty fast. what bothers me is she'll talk a lot in the tiniest voice. I can only catch about a quarter of what she says over the loudness of the machines/alarms. each station is equipped with an annoying alarm that goes off after so many seconds, letting you know that you're assembling the part at that station too slow. each chair comes down a roller line on a pallet and gets assembled from station 2 (load) to station 31 (unload). anyway, long story longer, it's annoying trying to train/listen over this alarm system. I wish there was an over ride for new peeps until they get the hang of it, then there's our line support who constantly pushes (which is another annoyance in itself). he has little patience for newbies. he must not remember how steep of a learning curve it was when he was new....
wait, what am I doing awake?! g'night
