a whole week off from the stalag!! actually, nine days when ya count the free weekend off before and after. man, after what seems like a month and a half of 1 day weekends and no weekends at all, I'm in "heaven". these first couple days are simply relaxing with many power-naps, pooperdog walks, unt beers, with a little grocery shopping and cleaning of the wood-panel submarine thrown in betwixt. I'm watching a lot of the Masters [golf] as well. it's been a great start! now if the weather can just get over that 50 degree mark and get a bit less windy, I can grab my clubs and pretend like I know how to play
.
about a week before my 'stay-cation' I bang my index finger at work making it feel half busted (I randomly get stabs of pain while performing certain work). of course, it's my trigger finger for many of the drivers on the line, so re-injury is common
. I'll call my doc on Monday and see if he can fix it. it's already better now that I've had a couple days to rest it...
Brian (almost neighbor/room mate) is in complete anger mode, the other day, on the phone, whilst talking to a merchant who apparently lost his package during shipping. the tracking site says it was delivered, but it wasn't dropped here. he's beyond angry (as he sometimes gets) when the person on the phone doesn't seem to want to cooperate. long story; short, he finally gets a new package (which I find out later, are a pair of shoes) shipped overnight to try and appease the monster (I mean, he was really lettin' 'em have it
!). he opens the box, only to find two right shoes in it. I was on my way to work at the time, but couldn't hold back the laughter. I'm glad I wasn't home to hear the next phone call he had to make...
for the longest time, I couldn't find my tracfone. I'm guessin' a good 3 weeks went by without having a clue as to where it is. I figured it's about time for a new one anyway, so I look up, and purchase what looks like one of only two 'smart phones' offered. it's pretty cool! the coolest part (so far, besides it having an awesome camera) is that it's WIFI compatible, so as long as I'm in or around my shack, I can call, text, and web without using any minutes [awesome!]. before I port my phone over (from the other one I can't find), I anguish over possibly losing the 200 minutes installed on the old one, and commence to tearing apart the house (you have to have the old fones SIM code to transfer minutes to the new). eventually, I find the damn thing underneath the passenger seat of my shrimpy bat mobile. the transfer process was a success. it's a cool fone! I was wondering when they'd come out with a 'smart fone' with no contract? it's pretty stripped down (compared to Brian's Samsung), but still I'm able to upload and run JAVA apps on it (of which there are many free ones). now I'm on my way to living in the 21st century
.
gave Rosie a bath today, but I'm sure she'll wake up with a wet hip again
. she's still truckin' along! Brian's peroxide blonde girlfriend brings her little dog over often. it and Rosie are becoming better friends. meanwhile, Brian gives me hell (again) about Rosie peeing in the kitchen (where I want her to pee, if she doesn't wake me up to let her out, being linoleum is a lot easier to clean, and all). I can explain to him 'til the end of time, that it's her house and room mates who pay the world's cheapest rent shouldn't gripe, but he'll never get it. sometimes I wish he had his own place so I don't have to listen to the grumbling...oh well.
that's enough nothingness, maybe I'll try and get some sleep...
