Month: November 2013

  • DA LIONS!!

FINALLY! a day off. but then, right back to work starting tomorrow for a good 21 days in a row (what?!), followed by (rumor has it) a couple weeks off for Christmas, so they can revamp our assembly line. they talk of big changes comin'. I assume we've been workin' all this extra overtime to build up our stock, so they have time during the shut-down to remodel (but it's only an assumption).

da Lions play the packers at 1. I picked up a couple T-bones, some tators, etc, from the store last night to throw on the grill. that, and enough beer to drown a Muskellunge, so I'm ready to watch the Lion's WIN...

  • all work and no play....blah, blah

blowin' straight thru another weekend (stalag), and now the news of possibly working Thanks-turkey day has been thrown out there. good gawd! THE TORTURE NEVER STOPS! *fart*

I'm pretty whooped by the end of last night's work, so I crash out right when I get home. the night before, I had 3 beers and watched a cute yet scary movie called "9" (a Tim Burton flick).

I guess I gotta get me a flush and fill on my power steering unit for the shrimpy truck. when it gets cold, the old stop leak syrup that's in it makes the unit whirr real loud and doesn't want to steer until the syrup gets hot, making it less viscous. last year I tried to get most of it out with a turkey baster, but obviously (as the weather sinks into the single digits) it's still a problem. I think the oil change place performs this function, but I'll have to bring it in when it's not a Sunday (closed).

fridge be gettin' empty...I gotta start me a list, then hit the store soon.

a bowl of quick oats for breakfast, and now back to sleep, so as I'm awake during tonight's stint at the stalag. I'll be making $26.26/hour today (Sunday double time). easy money, but again, I'd rather be home drinkin' a beer and watching the Lions lose *snirt*

  • out smarted by a phone

my new android fone is way too smart for me...the thing will make a noise, and I won't know exactly why, due to the enormous amount of features it has. *place hysterically laughing emoticon here*

  • holiday time off? yeah, whatever...

I think I put away my dune buggy too early...it snows maybe twice and I think it's time. it's been nice (in comparison; other than that sharknado day) ever since. maybe I'll drive it to work today. I already miss it!

up around 3am, having to pee, and then chow on a microwave pot pie, for that midnight empty bladder/full stomach thang. time to go back to sleep. if it's as nice a day as it was yesterday, I should also pull my golf clubs out of retirement and hit the range before going to the stalag.

oh yeah, and speaking of the stalag; the early rumors of having 2 to 4 days off for Thanks-turkey have been down-graded to just 0ne. and the three weeks off for Criss-cross...? 10 days at the most, but prob'ly 6 (won't be surprised if this goes to one day, as well). I'm starting to bet peeps a whole dollar that we'll work both holidays *fart*

  • nov 5rd was my 17k milestone debt wise...after today's car payment (and a healthy chunk gone from my MC), I'll be at $16,558 (and falling). overtime sucks, but it sure is peelin' away that dreaded debt. ;)

  • sore elbow, sharknados, and radioactive dating

this working everyday, everyday, EVERYDAY, EVERYDAY, is taking its toll on my already war-torn elbow. I ice the snot out of it to keep it from falling off. my brain feels pretty sprained as well...

pretty gigantorific winds last night during a mid November Sharknado watch. sounds like Illinois got hit the hardest within about a five state region. I stop off to the store and watch helplessly as a lot of the shopping carts (from the 'cart corals') go winging thru banging into some pretty nice cars. I drove my already banged up truck, so I strategically parked where maybe I could play defensive right guard (I don't know what that means either?). once home, the cable and the wi-fi was knocked out. I wanted to play me some poker (via online PS3), but couldn't. instead I find myself drinking a couple beers and listening to some music (via my music library). at least the power stayed on...

some pretty wild dreams persist (what's in these Monkey Kings?!). they become self aware at points, saying "this is what I dream about all the time" within the dream. last night's was about (in Reader's digest form) going on a date (with the 'cute like a little bunny' girl from posts gone by) somehow ending up at an airport filled with randomly strewn clothing and exits that connect in a seemingly never ending loop. after what seems like forever, we escape the airport somehow, only to find peeps driving around in golf carts wearing Hazmat outfits and gas masks with walkie talkies and such. there's a gigantic mushroom cloud shaped like a hand off in the distance, and just as we cross some sort of bridge abutment a huge shock wave hits. the abutment itself saves us from vaporizing, but the ash that follows is choking [...] I wake up at this point, thinking even my subconscious dreams tell me that dating this cutey from work will end up in nuclear Annihilation. I'm thinkin' about relaying this to her, just for fun. "yeah, I had a dream about you last night. we were on a date...everyone dies at the end in a radioactive plume" :)

  • fold

PlayStation network members get a pretty fun game thrown at 'em free this month. it's a dorky texas hold'em game that you play with the Venture Bros own 'Brock' (Patrick Warburton), 'claptrap' (that annoying robot from Borderlands2), 'Ash' (Bruce Campbell from 'Evil Dead'), and 'Sam and Max' (from the 'Sam and Max' video series?). it's pretty hilarious the comments these guys make. it's smart-ass x 100! it's pretty addicting, and I'm learning how to play poker at the same time. the more ya win, the more cool stuff you can unlock (as in most games). did I mention addicting?! yup!

the stalag goes full bore straight thru another weekend, so I cool it on the beers (only having one last night, and one tonight). there are enough hung-over peeps on the line during the weekend...they don't need one more *fart*

  • what?!?!

it's the first time ever, I woke up on a Friday to not see my paycheck NOT automatically deposited...nice! I always dream-pt of the day they welded the doors shut there, but never thought they'd short me of what they owed me. oh well. maybe because there was a holiday (that wasn't observed) during the week...or maybe I woke up too early? I'll go back to sleep and check again later. g'night.

    [...]

minutes later: heh! it must be the bank showed its newest deposit after 5am, because right after I wrote the above paragraph, I logged back in to find my check deposited. see, I knew I woke up too early *fart* g'night.

  • bottle v. jar

ya know when you're watching a movie (as I was last night), you have your snacks at the ready. ya take a slug of beer, set it down, then tip a jar of dry roasted peanuts in your hand and pop 'em in yer mouff (lather, rinse, repeat). after several times of going thru the motions, I accidentally grab my beer and tip it into my hand thinking it's the nut jar (...D'oh!). needless to say, I had to pause the movie and change my now beer soaked jeans. they don't call me dumb-ass for nuthin' *BE7CH!*

  • one day mid-week weekend!

I'll let ya know Hooey (how you been, dude?). all I had to due was look outside and see sunshine to tip my decision to play hooky in the right direction (I have 3 unpaid sick days left to burn off before Dec 19rd). it's been forever since I've simply had a day off. we've been workin' thru weekends now, seemingly forever. it was a most productive day off (!!). I got me hairs cut, raked the yard, did some shopping, got an oil change in the shrimpy truck, cleaned the bathroom, unt kitchen, vacuumed, washed dishes, and clothes...come to think of it, I worked harder than if I were at the stalag (heh!). once things settled down a bit, I had me some Monkey Kings and watched "Olympus IS Down" (via Netflix. cool flick!). tomorrow, I go right back into the work rut, but for today, I had me a one day weekend in the middle of the week [shiggity shweet!] :)

while getting my haircut, the girl (cutting me head...what are they called again? cosmonauts? yeah) was telling me she had a 4 o'clock appointment to have her dog put down. I almost started crying as I told her Rosie's story, but it isn't half as sad as her dog's. hers isn't due to old age, it's only 5, but has horrible Grand Maul style seizures. either way it ends up in a best friends death. I recommend the children's book that me sis sent me (due to the fact that she has little ones that have to deal with this).

back to happy news, I'm ending this good day off with a nice nap! g'night.

  • byebye

this will prob'ly be one of my last entries *the look of shock on both readers faces...*. I can't dig this site anymore. nothing is user friendly. I tried. anyway, I'll post a link to my newest. maybe I'll go to wordpress. Thanx Xanga for everything, but your 2.0 is sadly not user friendly

  • three weeks offf?!?! [maybe...]

alright, latest [stalag] rumor (from 3th shift's line support) is that we'll be down, for three weeks starting Dec 19rd, so the line can be converted over to it's new configuration. man, it's only a rumor, so far, but it's the best one I've heard. wouldn't that be awesome! three weeks off!! all right. I can't get too crazy, or I'll set myself up for disappointment when/if it doesn't happen, so I'll settle down, and cross me damn fingers *fart*

  • what do they put in those Monkey Kings??

$256 into savings and another $200 toward my credit card...workin' weekends suck, but I'm able to laser blast debt like a fish out of water (mixed metaphor much?). we're working all this weekend too. I still haven't heard the "OFFICIAL" word as to how long this will go, but if rumors are correct, it'll prob'ly go all the way to next year (seems I already wrote about this...?)

snow was fallin' pretty goodly last night. I'm not ready for grey and cold just yet. oh well. spring is right around the corner *fart*

I've had some profoundly weird dreams lately. what do they put in those Monkey Kings (new Holland brew)??

three Monkey Kings last night while watching a bit of Conan, and the Turkish Airlines Classic (European PGA tournament).

    otherwise, nothin' new to report...

  • here it is. Wednesday (late Tuesday night for 2th shifters). the day that's supposed to be "hump day". I'm thinkin' the hump will prob'ly be a week from now, if we gotta work 'til turkey day. dammit! oh well. I drink me 4 'Monkey King' beers and watch me some go-ram Serenity episodes along with starting the third season of 'Dexter' (via Netflix). OK. now it's time to hit the rack

    Shun Sheng Duh Gao Wahn.

  • online banking

Tuesday morning, I do some online banking. with all the wicked overtime, I'm able to pay all but one of November's bills. I'll contribute a portion of next weeks check to go toward my car note, and said unpaid bill, then I'll be done for the month, within its first couple weeks (I LOVE being ahead of the game!).

it's taken forever, but my Master Debt and car loan (another words; all of my outstanding debt) total below that 17k mark [it's a milestone that I've aimed at since I bought the car]. I was around 22k in total debt when I bought the thing, and remember that feeling of "I won't be able to relax until I'm back down to around 17...". here I am. I'll still plow what I can (extra) toward it, and it looks like this overtime isn't letting up soon.

anyway, that's enough financial blahg boredom, it's time to get ready for work.

  • what weekend?

I'm guessin' every day is Monday when there are no more weekends. I sneak in a sixer of 'Cabin Fever' (new holland brew) Saturday night, and watch a most disturbing Elijah Woods flick called "Maniac" (via Netflix). then Sunday night, I watch "RIPD" (borrowing a friend's DVD). a silly Men In Black style movie [with the lovely Marisa Miller in it...shyeah!]. anyway, shave, shower, etc., today to start another '8 days a week' week. it would have been nice to knock a golf ball around maybe one more time before the big snow. oh well, spring is right around the corner *fart*

    ready, set, work!~
