interview went well...
alright, just had my interview (to officially be considered into the stalag, rather than just being a temp...). I guess it went OK. she tells me the starting pay (if I get the job) would be $10.40/hour plus 45 cents/hour premium for working the weekend crew. that's $2.58 more an hour than I make now (about $135. more a week)! damn! crunching the numbers, I figure (if my math is worth a damn) it's almost about an extra $8 grand a year (based on a solid 48 hour week). that would be nice! $28,600/year sounds a bunch more significant than my current $21,800...she then tells me that they will be hiring at least 100 people within the next two months [cha-ching!]. let's hope I hear [good news] from her again soon. now the not so good news. seems the line I'm currently on is scheduled to be sent to Mexico within the next year. damn it! I knew things were going too good. I guess if I get hired in before the move, I'll just have to be reassigned somewhere else. I don't mind change, and I've already proven that I can work any shift (crossing my fingers that i can stay on the 48 hour shift
). we'll cross that bridge when (if) I get to it. here's hopin' she takes kindly to my interview...
