  • nice strong southerly breeze, 71 degrees, and sunny!  nice day, and I burnt half of it away taking a nap.  yep, my 'throat crack' infection is back.  dammit!  it's sore like a mofo!  I'm hackin' goobers and blood...it's not pretty.  I gargle salt water to try and ease the pain.  it seems to work pretty good.  I'm able to sit down now and have me a beer without wincing. last night, I could only drink 2 before it was too sore to drink another, we'll see how tonight goes. I guess I'll have to look into which doctor is in my insurances "in-network" and give 'em a call before it turns into another yucky bout of bronchitissad. this thing likes to come and go as it pleases, with long stints of it being gone all together, then, BAM! it's back...

let's see.  it's been awhile since I wrote last...work is the same old stalag.  we didn't know if we had the holiday off until about Saturday, so instead of working it, and getting paid double time and a half, we get paid 10 hours for being home (and life is good!).  this is the second holiday that I actually got paid for.  I missed out on too many of 'em while being a temp, but that complaint was prob'ly already written in previous bitch session entrieslaughing

the Kid's friend Mark shows up on Saturday, just before I go to work, he's here for a couple days before finding a motel in Grand Rabbits. I write more about this in a 'private' entry, names have been changed to protect the innocent *cue Dragnet theme*.  nah, they did nothing wrong, let's just say they had a run-in with a nosy neighbor. 'nuff sed.  you jump to your own conclusions.  It's good to see the Kid (and Mark) again.

I buy me some motor oil, an oil filter, and a PCV valve for my old bomber, and changed 'em out today (pre-nappage).  meanwhile Brian (phantom room mate) JB welds my antennae back onto my truck.  I'll take the time tonight to quickly take off that rattly exhaust extension.  while workin' on the bomb, Sasquatch stops by.  we do lunch at the Chinese buffet (it's my turn to buy).  he wants me to come over next week and do meatloaf, and maybe quickly replace those back brakes that need replacing so bad.  sounds like a plan!  he tells me that he suffered from what he thought was a heart attack the other day, while driving his car.  he went and got it checked out.  they ran a series of stress tests showing that his heart and lungs are healthy.  may have been simply an anxiety attack.  he gets x-rays on his arm (that being a symptom of what he thought was said heart attack), and it seems he has arthritic bone spurs jabbing at tendons that have to be removed.  he's got a good extension on his unemployment, so it's good timing (if there's ever a "good" time for surgery, he found it).  over all, things seem to be going well for him and his wife.  it's good to catch up with him, as well.

...and speaking of Brian (neighbor/phantom room mate), he gets a new hoopty.  it's a '95 Suburu SVK.  the thing looks like a damn UFO!  it's very much like what you'd imagine a prototype car to look like.  it's cool!  and, of course, he's gotta spend a gob of money on window tinting, stereo installation, car alarm and remote starter installation, so he has me drop him off and pick him up several times during my time off.   I gotta work my slack schedule around his BS, but I wasn't doin' nothin' anyway, and he's helped me more than once with stuff, so it's all groovy.

yet ANOTHER trailer goes up in smoke!  damn scary!  oh, and one more (taken earlier) of my new [used] horn posing with my mildly retarded dog....laughing "DAAAHH, nice horn dad!"

anyway, the dog's grawlin' at me for a walk, so I best grab the leash and get a barefoot walk in before the skeeters get too thick.
