  • the week and a half off from work was most pleasant.  not a lot got done.  a ton of slackin' in front of the TV watching a gob of football, and drinkin' a beer (or 12).  speakin' of beer, I guess when the oral surgeon hands you a list of pre-/post-op things to do and don't do. ya might wanna follow 'em to a 'T'.  it wasn't but less than 10 hours after the surgery when I decided the bold lettering on the list to wait 48 hours after the operation wasn't soon enough.  of course, he told me to gargle with salt water 4 times a day should happen as well, but figured a good beer gargle (whilst sporting my beer goggles) would be a good substitute...WRONG!  after waking up the next day with a mild hangover, I noticed my throat was on fire (did I mention this?).  I quickly started following his directions after one side of my sinus cavities became inflamed.  ouch!  if only...next time I'll follow the directions.  everything seemed to feel better after the antibiotics were gone.  all-in-all, I'm glad I had time to relax.  going back to work the next day would've been a bitch!

the 89 year old neighbor, of whom just last week, told me he's concerned about who'd take care of his dog after he and his wife were gone, had lost their dog yesterday.  like many of the other pets around here, it had cancer (is this the 'Love Canal' for pets? *it's a very old reference...look it up*), and had to be put down. it was a little dachshund lookin' dog but with an unusually large belly.  it was only 8 years old.  Rosie's twice that and still kickin' like a wobbly army tank!  she has her good days and bad, but still has the glue to hang on into the new year (amazingly!).  keep on, keepin' on ol' girl!

Brian stops to talk for a minute and reminds me to check on when I go back to work, after he claims he's gotta go back tomorrow morning.  DOH! my slack time is coming to a screeching halt!  I look at my facebook reminder and it tells me 10pm on Jan. 2rd.  good.  meaning I should probl'ly sleep today away, be awake all night, sleep all day tomorrow in order to re-acclimate my body back into that fun filled graveyard shift schedulewhatevah.  hurray!! back to the stalag for more fuN!  we're supposed to get a raise starting on the 1st of the year, but I doubt we'll hear how much until a couple weeks go by when our check stub will let us know.   you know how that place works.  nobody seems to know nothing about nothin' 'round there.  I didn't even know what day I was supposed to come back to work. a friend had to facebook me about it, when he found out. I hope he got the information right.  I know, right?!  stupid place! anyway...sleep!
