orient atiousness
the work week has ended, but orientation will eat up 9 more hours (5 hours tonight, 4 hours tomorrow night) from my slack time. oh well. a necessary evil when starting a new job I guess, plus those extra nine hours count as overtime (16.24/hour. an extra $148 bucks just to sit around and listen to company policy/safety, fill out some forms and what-not on top of my 48 hours already in
). today's orientation was mostly paperwork, and safety, and an explanation on the vacation/attendance policies. tomorrow we get our pictures taken for our new time cards and go over health and life insurance, etc.. who knows what they'll talk about come Wednesday? it's pretty dull stuff, but important none-the-less. it feels good to have a job with benefits again! I don't believe I'll play with my money in the stock market again (disgruntled from past experiences), but then again, if they match my contributions in my 401k, up to 6%, I'd be a fool not to play. I'll decide one way or the next after they explain it all...
