SPRING!!!
so, the pooperdog and I enjoy sittin' out on the porch, drinkin' beers, reading a good book ('basic teachings of great philosophers' by a dude named T.S. Frost). it being 60 something degrees and all. when it was time to wander in for another beer, Rosie gets half way up and comes to a jerking halt. seems her little bone shaped doggy license dangled betwixt the slats of the porch and turned sideways, so when she tried getting up, said license acted as an anchor bolt. prob'ly thinking she was in some sort of snare, wondering if she relaxed, she'd get pulled in, she was determined to tug of war her way free. after I realized what was going on, I quickly grabbed her collar by the bottom and jerked the license and ring right off (I'll climb under the porch later to retrieve it). I take a minute to make sure she's OK, reassuring her (with much petting) that the porch wasn't gonna eat her
. before all of this (pre-beerage), her and I take us a good 'Sunday drive'. it's been forever since we've done that, being that I kind of freaked after my last accident, vowing that I'd never have her with me when the roads were snowy and icey, for fear of crashing again...it was nice to wander aimlessly (on the dry spring-like pavement), with no destination, although she'd sit up and look around every time I was to brake (being that my brakes squeak a bit when used). I hit the store after our last day of orientation, last night, and buy about $90 in groceries, along with a sixer of Founder's beer, then wander over to "across the way Jay's" (after a smallish pooperdog walk). I only drink the first three and I'm 3/4's hammered (while yackin' with Jay and his new girlfriend/room mate). I come home and finish the other 3, remembering nothing but waking up in the morning on the floor by the duty free shop in LaGuardia airport wearing nothing but my spider man underoos
. that's some powerful brew!!
(finding out later that it's a beer with a 6.2% alcohol level!).
alright, the whole airport part isn't true but it made for a good story, right?
online banking to make sure my paycheck was deposited (this will be the last of my temp paychecks. next week I'll start seeing some big bucks!
). transfer $68 (20% net) toward savings, transfer another $100 toward my Master Card, and make sure the $33 automatic transfer went thru as well (cool!). *yawn* [next topic...]I get a visit today from both Jay and Rich (old man Rich who lives next to Chas. Manson). they both were just bored, I suppose...Jay tunes my guitar and busts into 'knockin' on heavens door' before leaving to take himself a nap. speakin' of which, my ol' dog is snoring like a mofo next to my computer desk, as I type...
. also speaking of naps, a good power-nap sounds kinda goodly, at the moment! *fart*oh, and wouldn't ya know it, a couple 3 days after getting hired in at the stalag, I get a phone call from Sara Lee (a company I applied for months ago) offering me a job. ...damn the luck!
