we start Monday night's stalag gig with getting together with other lines.  do our stretches, have our before shift bs meeting, then the big guy says "we will not be running the Dodge Ram line at all tonight, so for those who want to stay, you'll be distributed where needed on other lines, those that want to go...go!"  I was almost gone before he finished that last sentencesilly.  I stop off at a convenience store near work and picked up a 12'er of 'Mexican beers'.  looks like I'll be starting my weekend early.  I don't have to be back until Friday morning...SHWEET!!  4 day weekend, then next week, we'll prob'ly get the 4th of July off too.  man!  free time away from the stalag to slack is always a huge plus.  I drag the dog's pillow, her water bowl, some food, my laptop and a beer out on the porch to begin said relaxation.   ahhhhhh summertime!  and life is good!shy.

it's become rather sad, really.  my porch looks over toward the direction of Chas Manson's place.  his car is completely un-drive-able.  the back drivers tire is jacked off the ground with a jack stand, and the front and rear light assemblies have been completely removed (why?).  the trunk is always open, and he's constantly looking as if he's fixing something (this has been going on now for months!).  he's lookin' scrawnier than ever in his dirty grey coveralls and greasy baseball cap, half covering his long unwashed grey hair.  I think he's been beaten down and knows nothing else but to look busy (I've never seen him with a "real" job.  he used to fix mowers, but the parks manager put a stop to that).  once in awhile, I see an older lady in a nice blue Cadillac stop by and give him a ride (prob'ly to the store), but otherwise, he's always tinkering with something as if what he's doing will get that '84 Oldsmobile POS back on the road by working on something in the trunk.  weird guy~ did I mention 'sad'...

across the way Jay stops by just before I headed out to work tonight.  his girlfriend is going to the unemployment office and he wonders if I could help her with the online set-up.  sure! I told him that chances are pretty good that I'd get out of work early, so I should be awake by noon tomorrow (I figured on getting out early-ish, but not 20 minutes into the shift).

it looks like the Kid and his friend are stopping by for a week starting on the 1st.  cool!  anyway, I gotta grab another beer and maybe watch a bad movie on Netflix *plan*
